Geographical Indications: what do we know and what should we know?

This invitation-only workshop considered in depth the report from the systematic review of Geographical Indications (GI) evidence. By bringing policymakers and academics together there was an excellent interchange of ideas on the economic impact of GI policy. Key issues reviewed were the size of the GI market, the impact of GIs on net producer income and the role of GIs in regional development.

Agenda

Slides:

  • The size of the GI market and the importance of GIs in the EU (Hazel Moir)
  • EU Strength2food project presentation (Filippo Arfini)

The results from this workshop were presented at the Policy Forum on 21 June 2018.
